Organix 2012 Schedule

Toronto, Canada. Glionna Mansell Corporation has released today the line-up of performances for the annual ORGANIX Music Festival featuring the magnificent pipe organ... The King of Instruments.

ORGANIX 12 will once again present in collaboration with the Toronto Theatre Organ Society a concert on the mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ at Casa Loma featuring Jelani Eddington (May 7, 8:00). The growing ORGANIX audience will hear Rheinberger and Bossi Concerti performed by Italy’s Massimo Nosetti and an orchestra under the direction of Philip Sarabura (May 9, 6:30). Rachmaninov Piano Concerto for Organ and Piano will be performed by the American duo of Nigel Potts and Jeremy Filsell (May 11, 7:30). ORGANIX 12 will also present the yet-to-be determined winner of the October 2011 Canadian International Organ Competition (May 25, 7:30). The May festival will also feature a variety of other programs not normally heard in concert from the world’s finest performers, including; Marek Kudlicki - Poland (May 30, 6:30) Maxine Thévenot – USA (June 1, 7:30), the world renowned “First Lady of the Organ” Diane Bish – USA (June 6), Aaron James – Canada (May 17, 12:15) and John Grew – Canada (May 24, 12:15). Also in the ORGANIX 12 schedule is the highly acclaimed Renée Anne Loprette – USA (May 14, 12:15). Renée is organist of New York’s famous Trinity Wall Street. ORGANIX 12 will also present several very capable emerging artists in organ solo and ensemble performances, including David Simon Alexander (May 7, 12:15) and Andre Rakus in a musical collaboration with virtuoso trumpeter Mike Barth (May 28, 12:15). The ORGANIX performance venues will be the Anglican churches of St. Paul’s, All Saints’ and Holy Trinity, and Metropolitan United Church where Canada’s largest pipe organ resides. For the first time, ORGANIX is offering a convenient Build-Your-Own Festival Pass that will offer great value to see all or some of the six gala concerts. A great gift idea for Christmas!

ORGANIX is an annual month-long music festival featuring the pipe organ and its vast solo and ensemble repertoire. Founded in 2006 by Bill O’Meara and Gordon Mansell, the festival has an alumni of the “Who’s-Who” of the world’s finest performers including Dame Gillian Weir, James David Christie, Eugenio Fagiani, Patricia Wright, David Palmer, John Tuttle, Rachel Laurin, Elke Völker, St. Michael’s Choir School and violinist Jacques Israelievitch. ORGANIX has grown to be one of the world preferred stops for touring organists.
